Editorial policy
Coastal Civic Report aims to be clear about what a piece can support and where its limits lie. We value accurate wording, independent judgment and visible corrections over confident-sounding certainty.
Accuracy and limits
We check names, descriptions and factual claims against suitable material before publication, and distinguish explanation from interpretation. We do not present an unverified assumption as a settled fact. Articles offer general context, not a substitute for local information, professional advice or an official decision.
Independence and partners
Editorial decisions are made for readers, not as a condition of collaboration. Paid or otherwise supported material is clearly labelled where it appears, and partner links or placements are identified as such. A partnership does not imply that the publication endorses every view or service associated with it.
Corrections and illustrations
If an error is identified, we review it and correct the wording when warranted, with a clear note when a material change affects the meaning. Readers can send corrections through the Contact page. Some illustrations may be AI-generated; where this applies, they are labelled, and they are not presented as documentary photographs.
A coast is more than a view
It is a place people pass through, return to and share. We pay attention to the choices that make those encounters possible.
